Tracing its roots to the Celtic Christian tradition of Great Britain from the second century, the Church of England emerged in 1534 a.d. through separation from the Roman Catholic Church. The Anglican church has become a worldwide presence. The Holy Scriptures were and are seen as the rule and guide of faith. Bishops provide historic leadership traced back to the New Testament.
